 | Since 2006 major research studies on the applications of mobile telephony in Jamaica have been undertaken by the Telecommunications Policy and Management Programme, Mona School of Business, UWI with the funding support of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Such research has focused on the use of mobile instruments and services to help disadvantaged groups such as low income persons, women and youth. This video presents the perspectives of two working class Jamaican respondents on the utility of mobile telephony in their day-to-day lives. The interviewees describe the cell phone as integral to their business operations. These and other respondents demonstrated how mobile communication is not just about useless chatter, but often driven by income generation and survival outreach. With a rate of 94% of the population being described as active users, this may explain why so many Jamaican regard the mobile phone as indispensable in their daily lives.

It is NOT the girl who is remunerated for offering her 'services' but rather it is the 'employer'.) Up to this day the Cyprus authorities and police have done nothing to properly investigate Oxanas case and the traffickers still remain free and in operation. It is also widely suspected that the Cyprus police have covered up and suppressed the truth in Oxanas case as well as many other similar cases of trafficking which undoubtedly is a violation of local and international laws and points to the fact that there is corruption within the Cyprus police force itself. The entire Justice system of Cyprus is lacking in Legislation on trafficking Travellers and tourists to Cyprus should be warned about these 'cabarets' and should steer clear from purchasing 'sexual services' from these girls.

 | Several days before election day I caught up with Joe Biden and asked him what he meant when he said mark his words Obama's presidency will bring a generated crisis. He tipped toed around my question and said regardless of who's president, there WILL be an international crisis, I also tried to ask him about what Obama meant by stating we have negative liberties and the Constitution is flawed, he then ignored me. He claims they will have to make some tough decisions due to an international crisis, I'm assuming just as Bush had to make "tough decisions" like passing the Patriot Act, spying on Americans without warrants and engaging in an endless war, Obama will have similar "challenges" that will force him to make unfavorable decisions just as he stated in his victory speech election night after his victory.
