 | Anonymus Soundcheck et "Un pied dans la tombe" 21 juin 2008, Montebello QC. ROCKFEST Terrain de balle 111 Laurier Anonymus est un groupe de thrash metal québécois fondé en 1989. En plus d'être connus pour leur propre corpus, ils le sont aussi notamment par leur collaboration à l'album L'Académie du massacre avec l'auteur-compositeur satirique Mononc Serge Anonymus lance son premier album en octobre 1994, Ni Vu, Ni Connu. La critique lui reconnaît maîtrise technique et une qualité sonore impressionnante pour un premier album. L'écriture se veut engagée et le quatuor reçoit d'ailleurs, en 1996, le MiMi du meilleur groupe métal rock La parution de son second effort, Stress , marque la signature du groupe sur l'étiquette Disques MPV. Fort de ses réalisations précédentes, Anonymus s'offre plusieurs Spectrum de Montréal à guichet fermé, et tourne avec des noms plus connus tels Biohazard et Anthrax. Il connaît également un succès nord-américain suite à une tournée du Mexique et une présence au Milwaukee metal Fest. Le groupe confie à Colin Richardson la réalisation de l'album Instinct . Ce réalisateur a déjà travaillé avec des groupes tels que Machine Head, Fear Factory, Carcass, Napalm Death. Le groupe poursuit avec une tournée en France, aux côtés de Watcha et Out. Anonymus lance, en 2002, l'album Daemonium. Le quatuor monte alors sur les planches à la grandeur du pays et voit son album consacré le meilleur disque métal de l'année par de nombreuses stations de radios. Ensuite paraît l'album L'Académie du Massacre, qui combine les efforts d Anonymus et de Mononc Serge Le CD est vendu à 15 000[1] exemplaires et le duo tourne pendant 18 mois. Un DVD live s'est vendu à plus de 2000 copies. En 2006, Anonymus présente Chapter Chaos Begins. L'album est réalisé par Jean-François Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index) et « masterisé » par Peter In de Betou (Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir). Un vidéo-clip a été tourné pour la piste Suffer the Consequences. Anonymus est associé à l'étiquette Galy Records pour cet album.
