For all the voices lost to a society too quick to judge them.  | La anorexia consiste en un trastorno de la conducta alimentaria que supone una pérdida de peso provocada por el propio enfermo y lleva a un estado de inanición.
SINTOMAS:
Hay diversas clases de síntomas posibles; síntomas de comportamiento, síntomas físicos y síntomas mentales.
* Síntomas de comportamiento:
1. Rechazo voluntario de los alimentos con muchas calorías.
2. Preparación de los alimentos sólo por cocción o a la plancha.
3. Aumento de la ingesta de líquidos (agua).
4. Conductas alimentarias extrañas, como cortar los alimentos en pequeños trozos, estrujarlos, lavarlos, esconderlos y tirarlos.
5. Disminución de las horas de sueño.
6. Mayor irritabilidad.
7. Aumento de la actividad física, para incrementar el gasto energético.
8. Realización de ejercicio compulsivo.
9. Uso de laxantes y diuréticos.
10. Vómitos autoinducidos.
11. Aislamiento social.
12. Uso compulsivo de la balanza.
* Síntomas Físicos:
1. Pérdida notable de peso
2. Fatiga
3. Piel seca y descamada
4. Pelo quebradizo y lanugo (cabellos finos)
5. Vértigo y dolor de cabeza
6. Deshidratación
7. Amenorrea (pérdida de la menstruación)
8. Arritmia y bradicardia
9. Hipotermia (pies y manos frías)
10. Osteoporosis
11. Insomnio
12. Infertilidad
13. Alteraciones dentales
14. Estreñimiento
15. Edema (retención de agua)
16. Daños renales y hepáticos
17. Hipertrofia parotídea
18. Infarto y muerte (casos muy graves)
* Síntomas emocionales y mentales:
1. Trastorno severo de la imagen corporal
2. Manifiesta negación de las sensaciones de hambre, sed , fatiga y sueño
3. Miedo o pánico a subir de peso
4. Negación parcial o total de la enfermedad
5. Dificultad de concentración y aprendizaje
6. Desinterés sexual
7. Temor a perder el autocontrol
8. Afloramiento de estados depresivos y obsesivos
9. Desinterés por las actividades lúdicas y el tiempo libre

That's a LIE. Please stop perpetuating the stereotype that if a person "looks" okay, then they are fine. All of these girls died from bulimia. Bulimia kills, and it doesn't matter what you look like or how much you weigh. YOu can be underweight, normal weight, overweight, but if your potassium drops too low, that's it. Electrolytes are not something to mess around with. I have had a lot of problems with electrolytes and am a normal weight. Please take care all.
