Athanasius Kircher fue un jesuita polaco del siglo XVII que impartió clases de lenguas orientales en el Colegio de Roma que su orden tenía en el Vaticano. Investigó y publicó obras sobre historia y ciencias naturales. Se ocupó del mundo antiguo en Egipto y en el Lacio romano. Se interesó por los mundos subterráneos, los secretos de la luz, la música, las lenguas orientales y la
creación de una lengua universal. Sobre las lenguas redactó "Novum linguarum omnium ad unam redactorum" (1660), que trató de una nueva lengua, y "Poligraphia" (1663), centrada en los procedimientos para cifrar mensajes secretos.

Athanasius Kircher vivió la mayor parte de su existencia en Roma, donde murió el 27 de noviembre de 1680, y fue enterrado en la iglesia de Gesú, cuyo edificio él mismo se encargó de restaurar.

He is the third President of Westminster Seminary California and is a minister in the United Reformed Churches. He has spoken at many conferences including those sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology, and Ligonier Ministries.

At the time of St. Athanasius it was literally 'St Athanasius against the world'. 80% of the East was caught up in the Arian heresy and he fought against this heresy until the end. Ave Maria!
