A main feature of my daily blog (and accompanying vlog and podcasts) is a subject that I see arise on financial forums is generally a post by someone who wants to get started. It was started to help just such individuals - who have minimal funds to begin with. I'll trade an actual $500.00 initial account, via a rule set that I describe in this video, to allow the low-funded trader to understand the sort of things he has to think about.
Rule 1: The initial investment is $500.00, to be split amongst the accounts. Since I did that back in November of 2007? That rule is always done.
Rule 2: Each month, I can contribute $100.00, that can be split amongst the accounts however I choose. In other words, I can send $30.00 to Sharebuilder, $70.00 to optionsXpress; or $100.00 to optionsXpress, and nothing to Sharebuilder, etc. I discuss how I'm going to do that in this video
Rule 3: I'll be using regular investment and trade vehicles. Bonds. Stocks. ETF's. Futures Options. This video explains Airelon's Challenge Project for January, 2009
NOTE: This is not an investment or trading recommendation. The losses in trading can be very real, and depending on the investment vehicle, can exceed your initial investment. I am not a licensed trading or investment adviser, or financial planner. But I do have 13 years of experience in trading and investing in these markets. Whether you are a forex, stock market, day trader or commodity futures trader, Money management is key. Most know that from my daily blog at http://investorandtrader.blogspot.com/ , I often talk about Money Management. This video is a remake video, where I am improving the video quality, and taking care of a few other issues
I think, at times, I try to stress money management principles so strongly to new traders? That I may end up overlooking another vital aspect of becoming a good trader.
Psychology.
And honestly, I do believe that you can understand money management principles, but if you do not understand the importance of self-discipline and emotional control? Even money management principles and strategies cannot help you as a trader. You will end up blowing up your account.
So what aspects need considered when it comes to the 'psychology of trading'? I discuss that in the vlog entry below ...

Whether you trade the Forex, Commodity Futures, Day trade, or play just a bit in the stock market - you without a doubt have heard all about "Accuracy Rates". Just do a Google search. Seriously. Search for "Highly Accurate Trading" and see what pops up. All sorts of promises.
Although Accuracy is highly over-rated, and misunderstood? In this entry, we discuss that _ properly _ understanding your accuracy rate is vital to your overall Money Management Strategy ....

For better or worse, people who want to get involved in Day trading, the stock market, trading and investing with futures options or the Forex, perhaps they start off adequately funded, and through poor money management - they end up losing it all very quickly. Or perhaps ones look to get started, with a minimal account.
What to do? Well, they can try to trade their way back to a break even point immediately. Committing the same mistakes that got them to that point?
Or, they can start to look at what drawdown means to a low funded account. If you have a low funded account, you have already violated a money management principle. Namely, to have an adequately funded account.
Therefore, regular capital infusions is VITAL to the success of the accounts. We discuss this and other points in the following video ...

There are other strategies that what I list in this video. They are applicable in any market. Be it the Forex markets, daytrading, the stock market, or the commodity futures market. But I urge you to look up different money management strategies, and pick on the fits YOUR risk tolerance (not other peoples risk tolerance, or my risk tolerance)

How do you improve the relationship between your Risk Reward Ratio, your Accuracy Rate?
You use an actual "Edge". But exactly what is an "Edge" to trading. It's not technical analysis. But it assists your technical analysis.

Those who are regular readers to my blog understand that a regular and promoted feature of my blog is something I call the "Low Funded Challenge Project". I took $500 of my own money, and I'm building it up, demonstrating every move I make in two sub-accounts off my main brokerages.
But why? Why would I do something like this? What led me to do this? What are my thoughts? Why would I not simply package this information up, and sell it for $2800 a pop?
We discuss that in the following vlog entry ...

These videos and the blog is set to specifically help the low funded trader understand what concepts he needs to implement. The challenges that arise from trading a low funded account, whether it be the forex, commodity futures or forex markets are varied, and unique.
This video is a bit of an introduction to the series of videos in this video blog. I'm known around various forums, internet forums around the internet as "Airelon", "Dan", "D" (I went by years ago when I first started trading), and even the name that I used when I played some online games: noVus
I've been a trader and investor for about 12 years now. I always tell people that given the combative nature of the markets and trading, I find it ironic that I started trading in the first year of my marriage. :)

I couldn't believe some of the pm's and emails I received through the 'contact me' button regarding a couple of the vlogs this week.
The better educated the citizens of a given economy are, the stronger the economy becomes. The stronger the economy of a given nation is? The better my life is. I'm just here to present every side of the argument, every side of the story.
I discuss these aspects within the current vlog ...

Ok, I've demonstrated my investing decisions with the Challenge Investing Account. But "how" do you build an account? How do you start off with investing? How many shares should you have, before you look to diversify?
This goes to an excellent question I received from atomichockey. I answer that question in this video
