First Contact is a good example. In this scene, a woman from the 21st century is on board the Enterprise, which is slowly being overtaken by a race of aliens known as the "Borg." Captain Jean-Luc Picard does not want to self-destuct his ship, even though it is the only way to defeat the Borg once and for all. The woman attempts to talk Picard into doing it. This will only be funny if you have seen this movie. If not, sit back and enjoy my shitty impersonation of Patrick Stewart. Notice that I didn't even attempt to look like a woman for the other part. So, this is me getting used to the new GHWT drum setup. The sheer awkwardness of the placement of drums can't be overstated. You'll understand once you play. For the direct-capture I use an Adaptec Gamebridge. You can get them from Amazon.com for between $30-$50 USD. For the external view I use an older Sony Handycam. EDIT: I've gotten more comfortable with 5 columns now, and managed to FC every section of this song in practice mode. :) So, this time, here is me playing in a more comfortable setting. I hadn't tried using the RB interface yet, figured I'd try it out. Basically it just merges the blue and orange columns, keeping the same chart and same number of notes. Since GHWT counts drum "chords" as one note, there shouldn't be any score difference even in the event of OB "chords". It's amazing what a difference this made for me. By the way, if you want to know how to do the "notes on the screen" effect; There's a lot of tutorials on the web for this kind of stuff with After Effects, and the best site i've ever been to for them (which i visit frequently) is www.videocopilot.net ; they've got a ton of tutorials, and even a basic training series of videos for the After Effects beginner, and all of it's free. and no, i'm not getting paid to plug thier site, i really just reccomend it hahaha And yes, I play drums in real life, have been for 4+ years, so the people going on about "play a real instrument", no, sorry, I do play real drums. The tape is on my drums because the drums were faulty out of the box; the tape holds the pad closer to the sensor inside of it, which allows for more sensitive hits for the time being, until I get it replaced.
