@jackh4eva thanks. Last time it happened I tried that, and it made me feel faint. I kept doing it. We went to the hospital. I wish it would work better on me. It's scary when it happens, and I feel like a zombie after cuz I get so tired. I guess I need to keep reminding myself I can't die from it, but sometimes I feel so lost and scared.
@moonshadow112358 It's not lifethreatening at all, I have it, all you need to do is shut your mouth and then act like you're straining for a shit, it doesn't always completely bring your heart rate back to normal, but it always at least slows it a noticeable amount. I find rubbing your chest whilst sitting or lying down and breathing really deeply and slowly helps too.
@terry947 just keep trying especially if you have no money. dont worry you wont die, but i know, it is scary and it feels like your heart will burst, or as if its loosing energy. Like a said before, take in a deep breath n crouch, like a deep crouch so that your quads are up against your chest, hold your breath as you go down and try and push your stomach or chest as if your bellies full, and slowly exhale trying to control you heart beat, Keep trying and focus, and eventually you'll get it. HTH
@terry947 it never works with me, it lasts for likee 2 hours. (really really hard, and random) I've gone to the hospital cuz I was scared. When I think about it, it makes me scared and sad, I think maybe one day I will hurt my self doing that. But I can't control it, and I don't really have any money. It happened again just last week. I'm only 25. I don't want a short life.
@moonshadow112358 i had svt and i used to do that all the time. take in a full breath, crouch and try and control your heart beat, you'll feel it slow down and then just stand up again.
@PandemicZombie yeah it is. I'm scared everytime, but I try to act not scared because I am afraid that will make it worse. H ha ha, scared of being scared. ... >_> FML
I get this alot too and it seems to trigger mostly when i lean forward too fast after exercise. My heart just goes insane, sometimes i cant even feel the beat that well and its irregular but superfast and sometimes its so fast and hard it moves my whole body. Can last from about 10 minutes to 50 minutes and when it stops I get a rush of blood to my head and I think my heart stopped. I just sit there and cant take my mind off it thinking im gonna die any minute...really scary.
I have SVT & I had an episode a bit over 2 weeks ago where I was at around 220 bpm for over 50 minutes & then another one 2 nights ago which the ambulance sorted out alot faster, both times an ambulance person had to inject me with this drug called denosine, there hopefully going to speed up my appointment with a cardiologist. I have to take these stupid pills that I hate, there saying I probably cant die from it but when its happening I"m not so sure & im scared about the next one
@Newhere11StrikesBack My SVT's are different then a fast heart rate from excercising,as an example.Actually for me ,getting active with your heart in the right circuit is better for you.My attacks come when my heart wasnt doing anything but if you make it pump normally,it won;t switch the circuit unless you have too much caffeine.
@mailforkristina i had supraventricular tachycardia my fastest heart rate was 237 bph it is a scary thing and i u have it i no what u are suffering i got a cardiac ablation and it cured my svt thankflly i recovered i a week so if u have ask ur doctor about cardiac ablation
Ya I have this... the dr's don't seem too concerned but it scares me! Plus after one episode I had an EKG that said I had atrial enlargement and ischemia, but then it happened again and they didn't say anything about an abnormal ecg, well besides the svt
i got it this morning..was working..and HR shot up to 202bpm..thankfully the cardiologist walked onto the ward and he did an ECG on me...carotid stimulation and valsalva manouever did nothing...it reverted itself after about 10minutes..stupid ticker..
i had SVT and i had an ablation in the year 2000. the doctor said theres a 95% chance it'll be gone, but it happened again in 2001 or 2002. i got an ablation then and i was fine. i dont have SVT but for years now, whenever i do anything such as exercise for maybe 5 or 10 seconds, my heart races.its not the "svt race" but its pretty fast. is this a concern? God, i've been worrying about so many things for years now...
is it a concern or is it just the fact that i've become a lot less active?
