that knife is blanked in 2 pieces, nickel braze cemented together at the seam and is "vacuum furnace brazed" (1950* F) --melting the nickel braze and joining the two pieces. cooled then removed for grind, polish of the parting line (seam), heat treated, tempered and sharpened. there is nothing inside it, because there is no atmosphere inside a vacuum furnace. anything going into an artificial atmosphere furnace or a vacuum furnace is spotless and extremely clean -and cleaner coming out :)
