@Originaljedi34 Sorry, in last comment meant to say 4 put me off the series, although 3 was the begiining of the let down when they actually found spock, which made no sense.
@Originaljedi34 I have heard people say wrath of khan is the best one of the original franchise, but I haven't yet seen it. Seriously, after watching star trek 3 I just decided not to bother about the original cast at all and just watched next gen, then deep space nine before becoming a bit disenchanted by enterprise. Voyager was rubbish. I only occasionally saw the odd old trek on T.V. As I have grown older I have learned to appreciate their campyness more so maybe I should revist the films.
@BelatedCommiseration I thought 2 and 3 blended well with each other. i thought the 3rd movie brought a serious emotional element to the series...Kirk stealing the enterprise to rescue spocks body, his son was killed by the klingon warrior, and he had to destroy his beloved ship...Kirk was the best captain
I have to admit Trek 3 put me off the series. I suppose I watched them when young in the wrong order, I saw the motion picture which I found boring, then 3 which had funny moments but I just kept thinking 'this is so stupid and next generation is so much better'. Never really been a Shatner fan, although you gotta give him props obviously. Picard just seemed more like a real captain to me. Although I agree with Mr Plinkett, in the films he is a murdering psycho!
