The EMP commission found that most cars, planes, and generators will still be running after an EMP attack. It would also likely take more than one nuke to effectively blanket the US. But it would disable our electrical and communications infrastructure for months or years. The loss of those would dry up fuel and food distribution and society would quickly devolve into chaos. Even with foreign aid, the population of the US a year later would probably be somewhere between 100-200 million people.

Iran has never attacked or invaded anyone in its existence. the USA is the most likely source of an EMP. Never trust a Government that uses the term preemptive attack and bombs in the name of humanitarian mission.

@RainBoKatchr We would be fortunate if only 90% died within 5 years of such an attack. Most likely, we would respond with a massive counterstrike, and, subsequent counterstrikes, that would disable other nation's already failing grids, systems, etc. We would still have the ability to wage a nuclear war. We were and are prepared for that. Most citizens are too ignorant to survive. They would be the in the 90+% that would not make it.

I would be very bummed out if all my expensive electronics were fryed. I don't really care about radiation, destruction, transportation, etc. but I don't want to lose any of my apps, photos, music or videos.

Some will ignore, some like me and you will prepare. Keep looking get info, store MREs get ammo, .223/5.56, 9mm, .22. That will be the most available. Get a water filtering system. Have a plan, if in a big city you will have it worse, more parasites who are now parasites at you door, be prepared to kill not wound. Must safeguard your family. Get saved and follow the Word of God. The bible says "thou shalt not murder" not kill in self defense. This is real serious and on it's way.

...the whole shiterouse was a set up from the word go, design to fail . Even if the talking monkeys didn't nuc themselves , a inevitable solar storm event such as the Sept 1 1859 Carrington event would collapse the society & make humanity & possession of this planet easy pickings. I have heard that up to 90% of the population would die off within the first year. After reading about this, I think it could be more than 90%. Disease, starvation, violence..ect. Read "One Second After" by William Forstchen! Read it cover to cover.
