A short video describing the contributions of Frank Summers and colleagues at the Space Telescope Science Institute to the new IMAX film "Hubble 3D." The Hubble images are stunningly presented, and so are simulations and data animations contributed by the Advanced Visualization Lab, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, U. of Illinois.

See it in IMAX. It was mindblowing. Yeah, the depth perception was bogus, unless you have eyes a trillion miles apart, but you'll have overlook that.

I watched this show on my 42" Stereoscopic 3DTV and I kept saying "WOW". A cool film and just beautiful in 3D.

I just saw Hubble 3D yesterday- it was amazing. I just wish the movie featured more 3D Hubble imagery and less footage from Hubble missions. I mean, the mission footage was really cool to see, but flying down into a 3D nebula and seeing a star nursery- totally breathtaking.

if you want to watch universial magicness. dont rent this. its like a little over an hour long. its more of the mission to adjust the mirror on the hubble. there is a program called " the universe" legit, time travel, end of the sun, the big bang. awsome. , but yeah. dont spend your money if you dont want to.

@AntiChinksFederation here, what is your problem? What live Asian space program do you know of? The Hubble is an American NASA project you fool! Why would Asia be involved that all.

I just rented this on Blu Ray. It was kind of a rip off though as there was only about 10 minutes of images while the other 35 minutes was about the astronauts. Don't get me wrong, the images were awesome, but over all I wouldn't recommend renting this.

As a trained scientist myself, I've gotta say that this whole project is simply pathetic - editing and customization (artificial cropping, omission, insertion, colorization) so far from true reality that its beyond the pale. Its effectively the Hollywood-ization of space for public consumption. It essentially denigrates STSI, NASA, JPL and everyone else involved with space exploration and Hubble. Sad.

I saw the imax movie twice it was AMAZING best part was when they took you at like 40 billion times the speed of light just cruising in space you could literally feel it.

Thank You I never ment to offend. Just to state my opinion, we all have the right too one. I my self find it hard to belive in things that can not be proved but on the other hand thats what the word faith means. I will never change my belief's over science because as i said before we are only here for the ride and it's a short one. I am not a scientist wish I was I am not a Harverd student I am just a simple man with strong beliefs. P.S that was fun thanks for the debate.

@arturo13able Believing in an afterlife is irrational and unreasonable seeing as there's no proof! "Space is far more complex than any theories or satilite pic's Science can only scartch the tip" Most atheists would say that this comment is flawed however I actually agree with you on this. I've softened my atheistic temperament over the last 24 hours. I realized even after reading articles on M-theory that science can only answer the how questions and not the why. i see where you are coming from
