don fall for bad comments go for wat ur guts tell u..rock it...n i love u camera n lens. i also hve dat tamron 28-200mm but with canon 50e..i kept it as a antique as now a days most of ppl go after digital n i m usin nikon d5100 now n hve dat lens is really great is compatible with it..but hvnt tried AF yet. anyway...keep u guts up boy...

and that light is the auto focus assist light, which is autofocus in dark conditions. also in dark conditions turn the lens hood around for 2 reasons because if ur useing flash you will get shadow on ur picture from the hood adn also in loo loight u want the most light as possible and no shadows from ur light source
man the lower focal ranges are for wider angle not for less zoom u would nee the extra reach if u wanted to do creative photography and u need wide ange. but a 28 mm is actualy 42mm and 18mm is actualy 32mm on digital because the censor is aps sized which is 3/4 of a full frame camera. so all in all the extra mm do matter alot. one last thing. how long have u been doing dslr photography because u dont no anything about focal lenghts.
