@rosenwolf
Dunno. But I reckon that unless you know every - single Tai Chi master in the universe and every single UFC fighter, you will never really know. It's only speculation imo.
@elninohaginho Did you meet all the Tai Chi masters? What did you ask them? Hey, would you like to fight anyone? Are you sure you got all of them? How many are there?.......Oh, wait. Maybe you are just making stuff up. No, that wouldn't make any sense. Why would you do that?
@rosenwolf You think none. Sometimes people believe in things that don't actually exist. Being crazy isn't always a bad thing, but when our false sense of reality meets actuality, we might end up in a difficult situation and have to make sense of our own insanity. We should all be a little more careful with our imaginations. Believing in things that aren't real seem to be the underlying cause of many of the worlds problems.
@daojund There are at least 8 major things wrong with this thought. But it brings up an important point. We should all ask ourselves, "what is wrong with this kind of thinking." If you can't find the answers on your own, go find a teacher to help you. This is one of the reasons why it is important to keep some of the old traditions alive. In a few generations the mma and other modern stylist will catch up, but if we learn now we could save a lot of time, energy and trouble.
Martial arts were around since human beings feared death and started protecting their lives. Origination of martial arts is not important. It existed only because human beings wanted protection.
It always puzzles me why people like using the term Kung Fu in a wrong way. And no matter what you meant by "tai chi" or "Kung Fu", they were no the first two.
of course they would. historical honesty is uncommon in china. the history books are on my side though-- with taijiquan coming from wudang mountain... the origin of internal arts aka taiji.
Don't think that "martial arts" were invented in China... There is evidence of technique-based wrestling and armed combat even in 26th century BC in the Mediterranean countries. But yes, what you say about Asian systems is true. They were first taught to protect important people who traveled the Silk Road.
