A video representation of the journey the Bard in the painting by John Martin took before his confrontation with Edward the 1st. In every sense it is a journey along the river with its ever louder current and flow and a journey through the Bard's recollections of his life. It is in direct contrast to the musings of the the king and tries to show the other side of the arguement in his attempt to quell and conquer the Welsh. The Bard, a painting by John Martin was inspired by the poem published by Thomas Gray in 1757 and is on display at the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle uponj Tyne. This video comes from a project about John Martin's life. It is meant to give children a sense of surrounding and a feeling for place as well as the facts about the Bard.
The harp music is played by the ever-talented Sean Barry who is one of the most natural and gifted musicians I have ever known.
