A group of Jews and Muslims came to pray together for 'sulha' (reconciliation) at the Tomb of Abraham in Hebron. It's also called Ma'arat Hamakhpela or Haram il-Ibrahimiya. The soldiers couldn't believe to see it--Jews and Muslim coming here to pray...together?

This is the final scene in the film 'On the Road to Sulha' by Laura Beatty.

In the circle were the 'Green Sheikh' and his daughters, Ibrahim Abuelhwa, Gaby Meyer, Azriel Cohen, Sheikh Fara Gaye, Ihab Balha, Connie Risk, Sarita Moas, Eliyahu McLean

There are many sound and clear hadith conceming the unlawfulness of building mosques over graves or putting lights on them. Abu Hurairah reported: "The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'May Allah destroy the Jews, because they used the graves of their prophets as places of worship.'' (Bukhari and Muslim)

'Aishah reported: "Umm Habibah and Umm Salamah mentioned to Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, a church in which they saw drawings while in Abyssinia, whereupon he said: 'Those people used to build a place of worship over the grave of a righteous man among them when he died and make such drawings in it.These will be the worst of people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection.'' (Bukhari and Muslim)

@shadowkill546 One final point: The only displacement of Arabs was due to the war in 1947-1949. And the Jews did not start that war. The Palestinians are being ceded a portion of the Jewish historical homeland, that only ever held a sovereign Jewish nation and was occupied by others for centuries, because the Arabs built settlements during the Arab occupation of the Jewish homeland. The Jews will cede a portion of their homeland to the Arabs for peace. What will the Arabs do for peace?

@shadowkill546 I can respect your sentiments as well. You are missing quite a bit in the middle, though. The homeland for the Jews was Judea, which was occupied by the Romans, who renamed it Palestine as part of ethnically cleansing the area of Jews. They didn't succeed, and Jews remained throughout the centuries. The Zionist movement is the right of return for those displaced Jews. A 1-state solution is the attempt to deny the right to sovereignty to Jews. I'm against it.

@amyrpk Well, I can respect your sentiments, however, the difference between Zionism and the Palestinian movement is that Zionism was to establish a homeland for foreign Jews in Palestine which included the displacement of Palestinians, whereas the Palestinian movement is the right of return of those displaced Palestinians as well as the right to sovereignty. This does not include the expulsion of the Jews however. What do you think of a one state solution?

@rahuling125 You take a great thought (that we can live in peace) and trash it (by blaming "Zionists" for the fighting). There's no difference between Zionism, on the one hand, and the movement for Palestinian independence on the other. None. They mean the same thing: the desire for their people's independence, and the desire for national sovereignty for their people. An important step to peace is to stop perpetuating the propaganda, stop perpetuating the misinformation and the hate.

the best years Jews lived with Muslims too was between 711-1492 during Islamic rule in Andalucia Spain. Moses ben Maimon known as Maimonides in Arabic it's pronounced Musa ibn Maymun he like so many scholars were part of that Golden Age in the Iberian Peninsula. The period of going astray is now for all believing people. To fight one another so they can't think outside the box... instead they're in the box fighting one another.

@JAMEEL900 Don't get why you say God of Israel? Why? Are there a God for every country? No. There's one God, the almighty, the exalted. The one God of the universe.

@Amir4mir bro do you know ... or you read the dictionary what its say . Allah is word for God . and JHWH is the name of God according to Dictionary . Some call him Khuda or Eashuar .. and some Baghwan these are just word for God use in differents languages .. there only one true God of Abraham ,Isaac and Jacob .Amen .. when Bible translated then people call him where they can speak easly or JHWH is very respectful name of God . its not a word .. Personal name of God .Amen Praise God oF Isreal .

Arabs and Jews are related as they are both children of Abraham (Issac and Ishmael). I believe many people (especially Arabs and Jews themselves) aren't aware of this or simply don't want to face the truth!!
