With David Tennant having taken his final journey as nation's favourite Time Lord, here are some more classic regeneration clips from the Doctor's previous incarnations. The 7th August 1987 saw Colin Baker's reign as the Doctor comes to end when the TARDIS, under attack from the Rani, is forced to crash land leaving the Doctor with fatal injuries. @nbab21 I agree with you one-hundred percent. Davison will always be my personal favorite Doctor out of the ones you mentioned though.

Fascinating, the sixth doctor is the only one I am aware of to have died without a significant and emotional 'goodbye' scene.

@gareth19771 I'd be more pissed off if we didn't get to see him shot in the movie.

Colin Baker was far to violent to be a Doctor and he got very angry. Every Doctor had good points but for me i found it hard to watch Colin. Golden Age of Doctor is 2nd through to 5th if it wasn't for caves of Androzani 5th may have missed out. You have to admit Davison played his heart out in that serial. Tennant was good as well

It would've even been a better regeneration if his wig fell off.

What the hell, so he regenerated after falling off an exercise bike? Lame.

@mo21nk I see what you mean. I agree with you sort of about the way of having new regenerations, but I always thought it would be an accidental thing that happeneds, because he wouldn't really do it himself

@MrBacktothenineties Actually, Colin Baker was fired, that is the reasons they did that. As a matter of fact, I couldn't notice it until I saw it in the comments.

@DrWhodini1 guess thats true.but think i kind of like that there is a possible end to the doctor.i was thinking he would at the end of 12 lives then come up with a way to continue.it doesent sound like him,but maybe he has a really good reason to need to survive.but you are right guess the timelords do make up the rules, but have to follow them also.

@mo21nk AS I remember it was first mentioned during the Davison years that a Time Lord has 12 regenerations, and it was later implied that it was an 'agreed' limit rather than a physical fact. Whatever is 'the truth', with The Doctor being the last of the Time Lords, I guess there would be no 'agreed' limit any more. Which is great, because that means my quest to be a future Doctor is still viable :D

McGann was an excellent Doctor! He just didn't have a good script for the tv movie...

@DrWhodini1 Yeah somehow 13 got set as an accepted limit but it's not really. Seems to me that the High Council had a great deal of control over the whole thing since they offered the Master a new series of regenerations in "The Five Doctors" and apprently when they brought him back for the Time War they either gave them to him or it was part of the process. Also Romona seemed able to change at will (even if it was played for laughs as the time).
