Candid and informative video interview with Roky Erickson conducted by Will Sheff, detailing Erickson's musical history and the recording of the new album 'True Love Cast Out All Evil,' in stores April 20th
roky- i love you. LOVE.YOU.
and anyone who doesnt know, his youngest brother, Sumner Erickson, is the man who got roky out of his entangles poverty stricken prison-like mess ans sacrificed everything to help his brother to regain wellness. without sumner i do not think we would have heard anything from roky still since 1985.
sumner- you are my hero. and you saved my other hero.
eurghh correction...
Cool... Roky Ericson interviewed by John Lennon.
They both are trully the real heroes of rock'n roll. Glad he's still around and he's better than ever.
Bought my first albums of Roky 20 or 30 years ago and finally gonna see him alive in no less than two days from now.
Btw anybody ever heard that great track he recorded with Mogwai, so beautyfull, it makes a grown man cry

I saw Roky last night in Baltimore. GREAT SHOW! Roky's voice sounded like 1980 and his band was spot on. Not sure who they were though...but they were great.
A couple of years ago I thought that the fabulous Mr Erickson was virtually lost to the world. To find him still alive and most likely as well as any of us can be is fabulous. Many thanks to the beautiful people who never forgot Roky and made sure that his wonderful voice is still heard.
@channelcorpse Well guess what they are playing with Roky. And you are at home licking your dogs nuts. Okkervil River kicks ass. That's what will keep these guy's great because they are so under rated.
..."do you think that there's a conflict between those two things- religion and horror"...what a douchebag! ...and why the heck did you feel the need to use two cameras!- as if it's crucial to catch the inflections of your pompous hipster demeanor while you're asking Roky stupid questions.
Tedious sycophant.
Ugh.

I hate this okkervil river shit with roky... i saw him a few years ago at continental club in houston that group of guys with him were great...these guys are messing up everything...
i went to the webster hall show last night, total fucking shit, i think okkervil river could do a whole lot better for themselves promoting their own material, rather than the scruffy what have you's of some burnt out hippy. bird of youth was excellent, definitely stole the show.
I saw the show tonight In Los Angeles and Okerville river are the worst band Roky had played with. Will Shelf sucks as both a musician and a producer. Roky looked nervous and ill at ease on stage. The hipsters have ruined the comeback.
True Love Cast Out All Evil (the new CD) has received good press reviews (Roky sounds great on it, btw.) It's a blessing to hear him speak so lucidly in this interview. I discovered his music 4 years ago, don't know what I ever did without it! God bless you, Roky!!!
