@crazycavemanattack
The risk wasn't that big because it only was a friendly match!
So if the ball was going in he would look like an idiot!
But not as bad as if it were a REAL match!
Greetz!
One of the English forwards would be offside had Higuita's attempt rebounded to him. His left side of the body was clearly ahead of the Colombian defender.
It was not considered an offside because the "rebound" did not reach that particular English forward. Had it reached the English player in offside position, the right call would be obviously an offside.
To be an offside the player ahead of the defense line needs to be an "active" participant of that ball. It is clear that the English player was just an "espectator." And even if the rules were otherwise, it is clear that when the ball leaves the foot of the English player the "offside" player was in-line with the defense--so there is no offside.
@pocomocoloco it would still be offside. as soon as the ball leaves the foot no matter where it is going, if a player is infront of that then it is offside.
r u stupid or just dont know anything about futbol? that play wasnt offside at all because the english player shoots at goal and doesnt make a pass. OFFSIDE?! ha
@crazycavemanattack not a huge risk really, it was a friendly and the play was offside if there was a rebound. Still took brass balls, but wasn't exactly the world cup final.
@IAM1NVINCIBL3 ¿Ustedes?
@gobluesgogo
Yeap , but he toke a hell of a chance , had that gone in,it would have been the biggest cock up in the football history.
Still, a great save.
