See how a smell gets up a shark's nose, how our brains are tricked by ambiguous scenes and how altitude will affect the World Cup.

What a waste of time, money and resources for something as pointless as football. I really couldn't give a shit. Grossly overpaid, brainless morons kicking a piece of leather around a pitch...

From 2.30 fo 5.40 it has a lot to do with the Gestalt psychology. Nothing new here, I think.

Hmm... makes me wonder who the target audience is for these videos. surely everyone who cares knows exactly how a 3d scan is done.

how about you have a blood replicating robot in the stream of blood going through the sharks nose - you can track it on the computer and then see how the blood gets into the nose!

@BIGGGY305 Well they consider themselves to be intellectuals. I just thought it would be appropriate for them to use the correct term. Considering the fact that the presenter is from England.

@eamo2020 Listen you've obviously typed origins of soccer/football into google or wiki and quickly read a brief description. Football without a doubt was the original term used for.... football. The term soccer derives for a certain set of rules which were laid down by 12 teams in the south of England(Namely London). Beginning what is now known as the F.A.

Its all to do with how much your brain can process at one time. As what our eyes see is MUCH more then your brain can process; the brain just puts what you see to preconceived situations.

@0rganixmatter it is called soccer in US, Canada, South Africa, Austrailia and a few others, but my point is that football is an ambiguous term, and since new scientist is sold world wide there is nothing wrong with him calling it soccer

@RyanLFC86 you are the wanker, first of all new scientist is sold internationally so it would be incorrect to use the term football, and secondly there are many sports that go by the name of football and soccer is the correct name for it anyway so dont be such a prick
