@ponceahi1 ~ most people out there wouldn't believe what you just said but actually, Lenny was better than MJ. MJ played a controlled game at UNC even the year he won Player of the Year as a Junior. That was the Dean Smith team play style. Jordan left college that year for the NBA. Bias, under Lefty Driesell was given more liberty to let his game florish. If Jordan played with a coach like Lefty, his game would have been elevated as well. That's why MJ BLEW UP in Chicago the way he did.
@TotalRebuiId I think the level for college and the NBA from back in the days to now are really two different levels. Maybe now making a comment like the one I made would be absurd because of the two different levels from back in the days. I have to say I'm pretty confident with my comment to say Len Bias if not better than Jordan, he would have been just as great. Plus the Celtics would have dominated the league and Jordan would have never had as many championships as he did, think about it.
the dude went toe to toe with mj.... he was waaaayyyyyyyyy better than mj in collge. light years ahead of mj even. outlandish claims??? hell nooooooooooooooo. i saw him play. put the man in the celtics as a rook with larry bird under neath him... forget about mj... period. get the fk out here with the so call mj dick riders
@soccer1s8 Ok calm down, I doubt that very seriously, some people get really emotional about his death and make outlandish claims. He might have been better in college but there have been truckloads of players better on the college level, being the best in the NBA is a COMPLETELY different level.
bushmusic, I love basketball. I'm simply 5'6 and I am able to dunk! I just took the famous training plan at "50-inch-vertical[dot]com" - you can probably do it too
Maryland went on to win that game. Jordan and Bias were different types. Bias had a deadly 15 foot jump shot. He was not the ball handler MJ was. Bias would have been a great power forward averaging 24 points and 9 boards/game.
Who knows if Bias would have been better than MJ. MJ always said his favorite player was Bias. MJ certainly would have had a tougher road through the Eastern Conference and that great Celtic starting five wouldn't have burned out as quickly. But who knows. While MJ didn't arrive fully formed like Magic and Bird, he ultimately developed into the best. It's hard to argue with that.
