@ibanez0830 It's really a matter or personal preference. No one can tell you what looks best to you. Having said that, many of the LED televisions that offer dynamic illumination (Different manufacturers call this feature different things: Dynamic, Micro Dimming, local dimming, etc.) of the LEDs can offer brightness and conrast that is comperable, and in some cases superior, to that of a Plasma display. @crutchfieldtv So now that "IPS" LCDs are becoming more mainstream, are plasmas still the superior tv for color production? I am stuck between buying a plasma tv or IPS monitor and want the best picture quality possible. Thanks

@Superbatron the back labels on the power watts does not mean it will run at that watt, thats the peak max. it uses less to operate, although i dont argue its a useful heater on a 50" plasma that runs 24 hrs on most of its life. plasma does generate more power then lcd but the difference is unnoticeable but the superior quality of the plasma is very noticeable

@FrozenParanormalwolf i have had my plasma tvs from earlier models years on 24 hrs . sometimes i would sleep with the tv paused and i would never get burn in, . i even turned off the safety features and still drama free. i game 12+ hrs a day , cod halo no problem no sign of issues with burn in, .

@GameNewsPs3 Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. Yes, most plasmas are great for gaming. Just be aware of the potential for burn-in and follow the manufacturer's recommendations reagrding usage. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

i think led is the way to go but in some cases my human eye could not tell the difference between led and an lcd tv on some particular brands comparing them. Go for led or lcd. I had a plasma but took it back and got an lg lcd. It was a night and day difference. It was way better

Plasmas seem better, they will last you longer in the long run. 600HZ 0 MS Response time, 1080p, better colour and dark levels. The only thing is they are so dam expensive :/
