Really the top comment is CRT rules? have we all forgot the flicker, the scanlines, the weight, straight lines not being straight and that whistling noise the coils made to name but a few of its flaws. It's time to leave CRT behind and embrace the newer better technology we have now :)
Hi guys, after reading all the comments about TVs I got really confused. I want to buy a new 47 or 50 inch smart TV (good picture quality) for watching movies and Formula 1 but I am not sure which TV I should get. Can anyone help me to choose the best one, please.
Plasma is thee' best for movies hands down. Why? well lets forget about those fantastic black levels, it's because of the superior motion handeling. I can't stand watching movies on 'any' LED or LCD.
When it comes to gaming it's a toss up. LED's & LCD's will wow you for super colorful titles like Super Mario Galaxy, Kirby's Return to dreamland for ex ect ect because of their super bright image, pure white 'whites' and it's cleaner crisper image in general. But that motion?

@vdelcastillo99 are you a dumb ass? having a plasma wont make frames come out of thin air thats what the gpu is for not the monitor or tv. also led and lcd tv's have a tremendously higher color scale and much better dark colors. the the contrast ratio of most led/lcd t.v screens is 50,000,000 to 1 which is phenomenal while most plasma's are 10,000 to 1 you are pullin these facts out of your ass and aparentlly have nothing better to do but be a fanboy of a obsalete design. U mad brah. u mad??????
@Dagonlb Better for what ? can you fucking explain me? PLASMA have far superior quality and black levels than any LED that's a fact, prove me wrong ignorant. and check the facts.

@harrypablayadavindri stop your ignorance.. PLASMA have a MUCH SUPERIOR flame rate do you know that's that.. that's how fast is the motion that's because led is lcd (liquid base) and plasma is (GAS BASE) which is much much faster.. so obviously for gaming is much better.

So if you have a led hdtv. is basically LCD with LED technology.. plasma is for movies, lcd is for your regular watching like music videos, sports, etc but u can still enjoy movies with lcd too, i dont think you will get a true color with plasma if watchin regular tv n some people have said if watching movies or lcd it does not feel movie like but thats not a problem with me.did u notice how the picture of the plasma was dark and the lcd was full of color and brighter but why did the lcd had a better picture quality that the led thts wat i find strange.
Are lcd tvs able to be serviced at local repair places if they go wrong like the old crt tvs were known for or are they factory repair items only? Can you have the fluorescent lamps in then replaced when they lose their brightness
