no i dont think so, journey's just one of the band he's covering in manila, besides he's like a decade younger than most of the band members in journey. and aside from that, ross valory said arnel only knows like a few of their materials so it says a lot about this guy's talent.
Do you really think he would be singing with Journey if he didn't sound like Perry? It's ok that Journey has decided to continue with a Perry sound-alike, but isn't it possible the band auditioned many, many other singers before finding "the right one"? Is it possible Arnel sounds so much like Perry because he spent years listening to and imitating him?

Having said that, my comment was regarding doing a cover album of Perry/Journey classics. BTW, it's spelled karaoke moron. Steve Perry is a music Icon and Arnel would be nothing if it weren't for his very good "karaoke" impersonation of a REAL rock legend. Poor record sells and virtually no radio play will prove my point just fine. Now go play with your lego blocks kids and STFU!!!
lpgm..if you are willing to travel all the way to superwalmart in dixon ca (i-80 east sacramento, small town in between vacaville and davis) approximate miles...ummm about 140 from union city you can find some because it's a small town and that's where i recommend people looking for revelation album

To be quite honest AP is a good singer, but they should have left the classics alone. I won't buy it and Neal Schon is the main reason I won't He said Fuck Steve Perry in an interview with GQ it was quite a childish thing to say. Neal you would have never had the success without Steve Perry, so go on be a conceited prick but the truth is deep inside you know SP was the key that opened the door to your success.
wow two weeks ago I left that, I have to say after reading an article w/Neil my opinions have changed. I am still a fan but i will defend the Perry Legacy. He deserves that and more I am not here to compare..
Arnel has all the best parts of SP's voice quality minus the ego problems of SP! I love when bands don't let one hold out(lead singer)stop the band from going on with their career! Great job Neal in finding Arnel.....Neal is such an underated guitar player, amazing melodic sense to his screaming solos with such melodic taste and skill....
