I think you hit the nail on the head here. They could have had Jeremy Hunsicker as their lead singer. Supposedly, he sings exactly like Steve Perry, but that isn't what they wanted. They wanted something old but also something new.

2008 Reader's Poll Results
The popular German Melodic Rock Magazine ROCK IT has recently revealed the winners or 2008 Readers Poll. The winner in the "Album of the Year 2008" category was Journey's last studio opus "REVELATION" who won the competition against such artists as AC/DC, whitesnake, Avantasia and several others. Journey also won the award for the "Best Story of the Year" & for the Best Song on the Sampler CD" for "Never walk Away."

There are not many love songs that stands out. This is one of them, love it the first time I heard it, it reminds me of first love, family and life. Keep it up Arnel/Journey.
When the first time I heard the journey songs back in the 80's, it were an okay songs..later I realized the greatness...
"After all these years" is right on the money from the very first time. This is the song that people will treasure for the lifetime..I think it is safe to say that the Journey back in the sky once again !
Hope this time the Journey will stay with this configuration.
