yes, i think he is real. if you watch the video 'Mob Murder Caught on Tape' with the news guy, i heard that it is actual footage of Jimmy doing a contract killing. that footage was used in the documentary.
But that was the old days. There have been many made guys blabbin' and writing books recently. Jimmy never named names, or named crime families. He only implicates himself. In the documentary, which was banned in 40 countries, he actually lets the filmmaker film him blowing someone's head off.
