how these guys manage to survive the stress they go through from the effects of orbitiing the earth at over 15,000 mph turly amazes. they know fully well they risk getting seriously ill from spending time in space but they choose to do it anyway. you gotta be pretty hardcore to handle this. On some of these videos you can see they clearly look the wors for wear. it looks very painfull on there skull
Fantastic achievement it truly is but it's evident that the size of modules are limited to what can be balanced on top of a rocket or fit inside the cargo bay of a shuttle but can anyone tell me how unfeasible it would be to build a space station in space itself by sending up panels and parts in a flat pack type setup where the parts can then be assemble using a construction craft and space walks. Seems a station of any size and shape can be built this way instead of these cramped modules?
@HumanTargetAus
It is constructed by really strong materials, but its still not enough, they have the DAM system, something like debris avoidence something. There were some incidents where the crew evacuated to the soyuz craft ready to evacuate the ISS because there were some undetected debris on the ISS path. But the disaster was averted.
I bet they`ll be a mini space station around Mars, or bigger who knows. They`ll send bits of it and let robots assemble it piece by piece. Something for humans to arrive to when they get to mars.
@persianriderboy
Wait... I just checked, the ISS has actually been hit by small space debris. But nothing fatal happened, and just like you said, there is a method of making the safest route, its called the DAM(Debris avoidance system) The ISS biggest threat is low orbit flight, where most space debris is found.
@persianriderboy
But how can NASA or any other space agency for that matter see which is the safest route, there are very little amount of small particles out there.
@galatasarayfan67 Im sure NASA puts them on a specific route which they have probably predicted is the safest route to take orbit the earth. So far im sure small particles havent shattered any windows of the ISS yet, so im sure NASA has thought of this situation before and has made them take a certain route which can avoid any damges.
@persianriderboy
Your forgetting that there are small particles in space travelling at imense speeds, enough to break the windows possibly. Thats why as far as I know, they close over the windoes to stop the small paritcles.
@roryshane02 because theres no wind outside to be pushing on the windows, therefore nothing will be forced on the windows or other objects. but if you hit a meteor (unlikely because the rocks and meteors arent close to the orbit.) the ISS will get owned.
@FalconFreek they dont show you in the you tube videos or even on tv but they have and do grow weed on the iss for many reasons altho i dont think they smoke it LOL
