When choosing a good spotting scope for digiscoping the following should be taken in to account:
    1. Quality of the optics system - the better the optics, the better the telescope will be for digiscoping
    2. Spotting scope objective lens diameter - the larger the scope diameter, the more light it will let in and the faster your shutter speed will be. see http://www.swarovskioptik.us/en_us/digiscoping_equipment
    3. Eyepiece and adapters. Eyepieces with a long eye relief and wide field of view typically make great digiscoping eyepieces. As digiscoping adapters are normally attached to the telescope at the eyepiece, you will also want to consider what types of stable digiscoping adapters are available to fit your spotting scope.

In this video; Swarovski Optik STM80 HD spotting scope, 25-50x wide eyepiece, UCA digiscoping adapter, Canon 1000D DSLR

@sreffaketahi Hey there, I've managed to get my hands on a Vangaurd 580 High Plain 20x60x80, do you think, it is suitable for wild life?

@sreffaketahi, it is a Canon 1000D with the standard 18-55mm kit zoom, 25-50x wide angle eyepiece, and the UCA digiscoping adapter

@sreffaketahi, I would suggest phoning up Whysalls in Umhlanga Rocks and asking them where the best place in CT would be to go look (they are the Swaro distributors in RSA).

Hi simone12russo, as a product manager and keen digiscoper, I tend to use a whole pile of different cameras to try to keep fresh with what is out there. The 1000D in the video is a neat little camera, but I would guess that about 80% of digiscopers are using compact cameras with sensors smaller than this camera. That said, my favorite camera at the moment is the Canon 5DII, although I have been using the 7D a lot over the last two weeks.
