wow. if we can model an entire organism, cell by cell. We could perhaps simulate an entire organism in a computer. Which would be very handy.

@FSK1138 Yeah, never said we would. :P But true, history shows us we got little chance of making it for much longer. We should make the best out of the time we got left. And I apologize. I misunderstood one of your previous comments. You meant that we created life forms which might live long far after we are gone. Got it now!

@wizardaim humans won't even be around in 200 years LOL - the only things that will mark our passing are the lifeforms that we create and a layer of AOL cds

Thats absolutely spectacular! The way that fish forms is like watching a galaxy develop from gas and debris into planets and stars. All this happens just because of a little thing called DNA.

@kid29a - Nothing misleading about it. It is a digital look at a fly embryo.

@FSK1138 @wizardaim I very mcuh doubt humans will still be around in a few million years. The reason we making clones and such is to be able to create organs that sick people could use to survive. It's a moral question I guess. But it's been discussed just as the particle accelerator, you know! the machine that would end earth and all that rubbish!? It's just ignorance and stupidity. Man will never become god, nor will we live in million of years. All facts point in that direction. Pure logic.

@wizardaim "something else" - call it what you will - we are already making life -- in a few million years will --it -- think we are gods ?

i v always wondered how flys develop considering there so small. i mean it really is phenomenal how a creature can have so many functions and be so small.

@romanali1 the question of Infinity, cool deep stuff. From Parmenides & Zeno of Elea to Socrates and Spinoza. the idea that infinity yields all possible events. or the fundamental category being infinite regression where all find unity. Are space, time & matter infinitely divisible? In a sense, if we had a theory of everything, we could place any term on the left side of the equation and express it by rearranging all the terms on the right. It's all made of the same stuff.. whatever we call it.

@marsCubed I don't deny the possibility of life disappearing and reappearing, though this wouldn't point to the validity or invalidity of asserting there being a "God" entity "pulling the strings" so to speak. I do have a problem with the notion of this universe having infinite history, due to the problem of infinite regression, as well as the fact that time becomes meaningless "prior" to the big bang .. but yeah, post big bang, there could have been many cycles of life.

@pye333 in other words... something from nothing ... hmmm, maybe. (However, I have my reservations, but each to their own) :-)
