i think it is time to punish those who believe and perpetutate this garbage. Before the date occurs, make a list of all who believe it. After the day goes by and nothing happens, punish all of those who did believe by rounding them up and putting them somewhere so they will no longer infect the thinking population. This will send a clear message to anyone else who even thinks about claiming to be an "expert" for the next "big disaster". Failing that, put up big billboards saying "Tools!"

Excellent video. I saw it for the first time today. I am also extremely scared about the U.S. based on what I have seen in the last 10 years. Somehow, it seems to me that ignorance is beginning to reclaim its territory after science reigned so well for the past 400 years. I am also very scared that the majority of Americans can be told to believe just about anything by wanna-be priests and soothsayers. Science has to win this, or we WILL be wearing Victorian clothes again.

@tdarnell You are a rare fella around here. Good to see someone with basic reasoning and understanding of the cosmos and Cycles of our Solar System...I also am not convinced about "Armageddon" happening in 2012... "The End" has been coming since the dawn of man, yet it hasn't happened yet, and I see no reason why it should, lest we do it to ourselves. Kudos to you for being sane.

Sir, I commend you for pointing out the obvious. I'm more of a historian than a scientist, but not only do I find your videos fascinating and informative, but You also say what probably many are thinking or at least hoping. Also I think Carl Sagan said something similar on the lack of science education and knowledge. I hope you keep fighting the good fight.
