On September 9, 2002, a scheduled appearance by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sparked heated debate at Montreal's Concordia University. By the end of the day, the "Concordia riot" has made international news, from CNN to Al-Jazeera. This film documents the fallout from that eventful day, following three young campus activists as they negotiate the most formative year of their lives. Filmmakers Ben Addelman and Samir Mallal jump into the fray with street-smart bravado and a handheld camera. Buoyed by the songs of hip-hop artist Buck 65, this film offers a tonic reflection on the current state of Canadian student activism and the enduring value of tolerance.

@ProfessorMarmelaid Except that anti-semitism means Jew hating. Words aren't always used in a literal sense, and your reasoning is shallow and contrite. Arabs are capable of hating Jews, just as Jews are capable of hating Arabs, just as one human is capable of hating another human for any number of bullshit reasons.

@PhoeniciaRemembered Netanyahu endangers security? The man was going to give a speech after who knows how much effort and time the Hillel students put into trying to make it happen. Those who do not wish to attend, dont have to, they could even miss school that day. But the fact that they think they can control who can see who is just a violation of others freedom of speech. And even though this self hating Jew regretted a few things, he was there acting against the rights of his fellow Jews.

@udaan8 that's the biggest load of crap i've ever heard. I go to Concordia and the Arabs get away with whatever they want. Catagorizing Israel as an apartheid state is the most ridiculous assertion made in the last 5 years and is frankly insulting to the oppressed people of South Africa. 350 million Arabs in the world and the 1.3 million who live in israel, carry israeli citizenship, participate in israeli society are the ones with the most civil rights.
