I bought a Canon PowerShot A590 IS. A video of me opening the retail box. I so love this camera! The features it offers for the price I paid is unbelievably great for a camera in this class. It has full Manual control (Aperture and Shutter Speed control) and it even has some gyroscope technology that lets it automatically fix the image orientation in playback mode when you hold the camera sideways =D GREAT CAMERA!!!! CANON FOREVER!!

@Nellz25 That's the thing, P Mode (program mode) is really AUTO mode with more flexibilities. The truth is, when you use flash in P mode, the shutter speed is still locked at 1/60th of a second. And when you put the power of the flash to middle your only making it worse because shutter speed is 1/60, less light is put out = darker photos! YOU REALLY NEED TO INCREASE YOUR SHUTTER SPEED TO GENUINELY FIX THIS. I suggest using Night Portrait mode or Night scene. or do it urself in Tv mode.

@Nellz25 (continuation) ... and thus make sure you stay still. Not too sure about the exact name but it should be something like Night portrait mode or night scene mode. use them accordingly, they should be self-explanatory =D. If you wanna go manual, you can go for Tv mode, set the shutter speed a little slower like 1/4 (a lot slower than 1/60th right) and still use flash, that way more light comes in and image comes out brighter. Experiment before you go to ur event, and be prepared =D

@Nellz25 Okay I know what you mean. this generally happens if you set your camera on AUTO (the green square or the red heart) when you use flash, your shutter speed is LOCKED at 1/60th of a second so no matter what you do you always get the same amount of light which is usually bounced back by your flash anyway leaving the rest looking dark. If you want to stay automatic, you can select the "Night" mode in the Scenemode switch to it, but be careful, because shutter speed will be longer ...

Video quality is really good. there's 640x480SP and 640x480LP both at 20fps. there's 320x240 at 30fps and there is a compact mode at 160x### at 15fps. overall video quality is awesome for this camera, its really clear and it is optically stabilized too so it's not as shaky when taking videos =D

Woo! I got it a few weeks ago, after Christmas. I couldn't make an unboxing video. I had the camera to record myself, but not a place to put it. I was in the car. Meh...I might make some kinda review or something when I get free time. :)

=) Well i got this on sale and it is one of those few cameras that are cheap and still offers manual control so i think its a good deal. Canon 880 is a great camera too but i dont think it lets you tweak the photo as much tho. Thanks for the comment! ^_^
