Do not buy Vizio!!! I bought a Vizo 47 inch TruLed VIA LCD in January 2011. It is now August 2011 and the tv failed. There are many, many stories like this out there. DO NOT BUY NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE PICTURE LOOKS.

I have a friend who owns a sport bar. He opened his sport bar about 2 years ago, and he bought 20 of the Vizio TVs. After about 1 and 1/2 years, he had to replace all of them. The picture brightness got dimmer to the point of unwatchable. I learned later that Vizio TVs are manufactured in China. Vizio has a proxie company in the US. But almost 90% of their TVs are made in China. Samsung and Sharp newer model TVs are made in Mexico.

I have a Vizio and it's having problems too. I have a 5 inch round dark shaded spot on the right bottom corner that gets annoying at times. I heard people say they've had the same problems from Sony's and Samsungs too. So i guess it's not just vizios that have these problems.

@iBattlefieldGamer Thats what I meant by size. See now-a-days everyone is looking to purchase a 42' or bigger T.V. so when they go into Sears or best buy and see a 46' inch at $999 compared to others starting at $1,699, without a question they'll go with a Vizio. But their 40' inch and up TVs don't last very long. I never saw the point of buying an HDTV under 40' inch, because if you do your homework, you really cant tell the different from HD with a TV under 40' inch.

@GonzoeKb24 well thats not completely true. Vizio's smaller TV's last a really long time. Its the bigger one's like this one. My friend had almost that exact one, same problem. He got a smaller Vizio and it is going strong still.

actually people are always comparing it to high profile company like sony or samsung. vizio hasn't even out long compare to sony or other high profile company but it got considered the most well adapt HDTV manufacturer despite that they are not as big as other companies.

That DVD player is on 4x3 letterbox mode, and the TV is showing that stretched out.

CRT hd tvs would be far nicer. Hd picture quality is dissapointing. Every screen you watch will be plastic where as crt is glass. LCd are overly bright due to the technology of using a lightbulb an. crt hd resolution would be lush.

Yeah Vizios are so crappy their the #1 television company right now!!!! Every television company has it's problems. The only reason people say Vizios are crap is because of their price tag. If you follow consumer reports and other credited sources you would see that Vizio is actually a very good product and company. Some of the bigger names out there are having way more trouble than Vizio and those are the same ones that people are recommending over Vizio.

Its an overheating issue. The power supply doesn't have proper ventilation and all that heat gets trapped inside the TV causing all the internal components to overheat. I just installed a small fan inside near the power supply on mine to blow out the heat , and it works like a charm. You can use the TVs USB maintanance port on the back to power the fan.

Thats one of the main problems with Vizio. Although at stores the price and size might sound great, this TVs dont see to last long. You would be lucky if any Vizio tv last you longer than a year or so!
