@garrym417 I know that tone comes from your fingers and the way they interact with your guitar, but I was answering a question regarding his tone on this particular video. I don't disagree that AK sounded like AK regardless of what he played, as the same is true of everybody!
@waynerjson with the greatest respect albert ws not a "contempary" of srv - he wrote the book before srv was in school - he was an "originator" where stevie created his own thing by assimilating albert jimi lonnie etc and putting his honesty and soul into it......
@NurseDischord Actually, the one time I saw him i the UK, he was play through a Roland Jazz Chorus, a very clean solid state amp. Still sounded like AK though. Go figure.
Whenever Stevie played with his contemporaries, he would hold WAY back, like 50%, and still sound better than everyone else. Thank you God for giving us Stevie.
let us not forget the great albert king. one of the best of the old time blues
guitar players. i hope he doesnt get lost in time. it looks like even
stevie ray saw his talent. and had admiration for this talented man.
'Holy Shit' best describes this clip. I pulled TF out of the library this morning, and that prompted me to search this song. Thanks for posting, my man.
Stevie Ray is another one who died tragicly and to young. What does it take to keep gifted , talented entertainers like this here? Stevie Ray we need your soul. RIP!
