science doesnt have to have a plan for how this will be useful, its just does. the purpose of science isnt to make things, the purpose of science is science. the pursuit of knowledge. i wish more people these days would find knowledge worth more than gold, because it is. its infinitely rare and infinitely valuable. by its mere uncovery knowledge leads to great inventions, but they are a by-product not the goal.
